Dr. Hwang has also earned the Top Doc award multiple times and is especially skilled in the treatment of degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, lumbar spinal stenosis and spondylolisthesis through minimally invasive surgery. He utilizes advanced techniques to correct spinal deformities and often performs revision surgery for both pediatric and adult patients with failed back or flat back syndrome.

He has taught orthopedic residents, spine surgery fellows and other practicing spine surgeons around the world in leading-edge surgical and nonsurgical spinal approaches. He routinely lectures and performs clinical teaching at multiple national and international spine conferences.
