Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT)

Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) is a hands-on treatment provided by trained providers, including Dr. Sophia Yae, DO, to help diagnose, treat, and prevent musculoskeletal pain. Using techniques like stretching, gentle pressure, and joint mobilization, OMT helps improve alignment, restore movement, and reduce pain.

What OMT Can Help With

OMT is commonly used for:

  • Back and neck pain
  • Joint stiffness or dysfunction
  • Muscle tension and spasms
  • Postural imbalances

By targeting the source of discomfort, OMT can enhance flexibility, support natural healing, and promote long-term musculoskeletal health.

What to Expect

During an OMT session, Dr. Sophia Yae will carefully assess your posture and muscle function. Using gentle, precise movements, they will work to release tension, improve joint motion, and correct alignment issues. Sessions are non-invasive and usually very comfortable, and most patients notice improved mobility and decreased discomfort over time.

Safety & Recovery Tips

  • OMT is generally safe when performed by trained professionals.
  • Mild soreness or fatigue after treatment is normal and typically resolves within a few days.
  • Follow any at-home stretching or movement instructions provided by your practitioner to maximize benefits.

Payment Information

OMT is currently an out-of-pocket service at University Spine Center, as it is not covered by insurance.
